As we already pointed out in our previous article on theBPDB database measurements, in May, Booking.com silently deleted the NTAK numbers that Hungarian hosts had set up in their system due to a technical error. As a result, around 95% of listings running on the platform became technically non-compliant overnight.
The error occurred on Booking.com's side, but during an inspection, the authorities may hold the host accountable for the missing NTAK number. It is therefore worth logging into your Booking.com account and manually re-entering the number for every affected listing.
Restore your NTAK number in 2 minutes
- Log in to the Booking Extranet and select the affected property.
- Open theProperty>Room detailsmenu, then click theEditbutton.
- Scroll to the"Please tell us your NTAK number" (Please provide your NTAK number)section.
- Select the category that matches your NTAK number:
- MA...number prefix:Private accommodation (Private accommodation)
- EG...number prefix:Other accommodation (Other accommodation)
- At the bottom of the page, clickContinueto save.
Important:In GuestGuru's own BPDB analyses, we do not flag as non-compliant those hosts whose NTAK number is missing solely due to Booking.com's error. That said, do not leave your listing as it is: during an official inspection, you will be the one who has to explain the missing data. Restore the NTAK number for every affected listing, preferably as soon as possible.
