Peaceful nights: how we handle rule-breaking guests
Here's how we deal with noise complaints and house rule violations swiftly, so the property, the owner, and the neighbours can all stay at ease.

Peaceful nights in short-term letting? Yes, it's possible!
If you've entrusted us with your property, it's only natural that you'd want to know how we look after it and what we do to preserve the peace of the community. These questions come up often:
- What happens if guests are being noisy?
- What if they organise a party?
- Who steps in if the house rules aren't followed?
Unexpected situations do arise in short-term letting. When they do, what matters isn't whether there was a problem, but how quickly and decisively we handle it.
How we handle rule violations
We don't wait for things to escalate. We manage incidents in several steps to keep the property and the neighbours safe.
- We assess the situation immediately. We log what has happened and determine whether it's a minor noise issue or a more serious rule violation.
- We contact the guest. Our back-office team warns them straight away and asks them to comply with the house rules. Most cases end right here.
- If necessary, we go to the property in person. If the guest fails to cooperate, our property manager personally checks on the situation.
- If required, we call a security service. Our contracted external partner arrives on site and takes action in full compliance with the law.
The cost of the rule violation is not yours to bear
It's a fair question — who pays for the security callout.
The house rules of GuestGuru listings state in advance that rule violations may carry financial consequences. If a guest breaks the house rules, the full cost of the callout and the disturbance is charged directly to them through the booking platforms.
As a property owner, you don't have to organise the response yourself, and you don't have to worry about the costs either.
